For the past 5 years I have been collecting figures and I absolutely love it. I buy them, put them on display or put them in storage and buy more. The hobby doesn’t stop as more and more figures are released. The only problem that I have is that some of the collectibles that I buy have become a little expensive over the last year or so.

Most of the collectibles I collect range from from £18b -£25. Some of them cost more now though. Especially NECA’s Ultimate figures which can range for around near £30.  It doesn’t put me off collecting them at all mind you. I still love the hobby as much as did when I started. I collect a wide variety of lines; horror figures, sci-fi figures, comic book, wrestling and ones from various films and tv series.

To me they are like mini art pieces especially the NECA figures they are unlike any other that I collect. I adore this hobby and I don’t think I’ll ever stop. As I really love the hobby I would love to give some tips for those who are just starting out or want to begin collecting.

Know what your collecting.

If your gonna get into collecting you have to nail down what lines you collect. Though they can grow overtime. Don’t start collecting loads to early. All the lines that I collect, I am really interested in the licenses be it Alien, Predator, Walking Dead etc etc. I am a fan of them and collecting the lines are the extension of that.

Never pay too much.

In this day and age figures are getting rather expensive and I have seen many figures going for more than double or triple it originally cost. Even brand new ones it’s insane ! You can find cheaper sellers on ebay selling figures for much more reasonable prices. If you pay the high prices it only encourages their behaviour to keep selling figures for a high price which is not very good for the collectors and the collecting community.

This is possibly the most important tip for any collector, enjoy the hobby, if you don’t enjoy it what’s the point of collecting them in the first place.
